Overview

If you're in the Flushing area and craving authentic Korean home-style food, look no further than Jeunju Korean Restaurant 전주식당 | 전주할매칼국수. This cozy spot, located at 40-11 150th St, Flushing, NY 11354, offers a delightful array of dishes that transport you straight to the heart of Korea, serving comfort food just like you'd find in a grandmother's kitchen.

The first thing you'll notice when you step into Jeunju Korean Restaurant is its warm and welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of a traditional Korean home. The restaurant prides itself on offering dishes that stay true to the flavors of Korea, prepared with fresh ingredients and time-honored recipes passed down through generations. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Korean cuisine or trying it for the first time, Jeunju promises a memorable dining experience.

One of the standout dishes at this restaurant is their Jeonju-style kalguksu (전주할매칼국수), which is a rich, comforting noodle soup that has quickly become a favorite among regulars. The broth is rich and flavorful, made by simmering vegetables, meat, and spices over several hours. Served with hand-cut wheat noodles, it’s the perfect meal for a cold day or any time you want to enjoy something hearty and satisfying. The beauty of Jeunju's kalguksu is that it embodies the essence of traditional Korean comfort food-simple, nourishing, and full of flavor.

Another must-try item on the menu is the Bibimbap (비빔밥), a classic Korean dish that brings together rice, sautéed vegetables, a fried egg, and your choice of protein-usually beef or chicken. It's topped with gochujang (Korean red chili paste) for that perfect spicy kick. At Jeunju, the Bibimbap is served in a hot stone bowl, allowing the rice to crisp up just slightly at the bottom, adding a delightful texture to every bite. This dish is a perfect example of how the restaurant brings the authentic Korean experience to life-everything is prepared with care and precision.

For those who prefer meatier dishes, the Galbi (갈비), or Korean BBQ short ribs, is another favorite. The marinated ribs are grilled to perfection, creating a tender, smoky flavor that pairs beautifully with the restaurant's signature banchan (side dishes). It’s easy to see why this dish is beloved by so many. And if you’re in the mood for something a little lighter, Jeunju also offers an assortment of vegetable-focused dishes like the Kimchi Jeon (김치전), a savory pancake made with kimchi, green onions, and a crispy batter. It’s ideal as a snack or side dish.

While the menu at Jeunju is filled with incredible options, it’s also worth mentioning their exceptional customer service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and happy to guide you through the menu if you're unfamiliar with Korean cuisine. Many guests have shared that the service here is just as exceptional as the food, contributing to the warm, homey vibe of the restaurant.

Whether you’re coming for a casual lunch or a special dinner, Jeunju Korean Restaurant provides a true taste of Korean home-style cooking. It’s the perfect place to gather with friends or family and indulge in comforting, flavorful dishes that capture the essence of Korea. And if you're in the mood for something specific, their menu offers an array of options, from noodle dishes to BBQ, all showcasing authentic Korean flavors.

If you're near Flushing, NY, and looking for a place to experience the rich, deep flavors of Korean cuisine, Jeunju Korean Restaurant is a must-visit. Every dish feels like a hug from a Korean grandmother-warm, satisfying, and deeply comforting. With each bite, you’re not just enjoying a meal; you're experiencing a piece of Korean culture and history.

A small Korean restaurant with great food and warm hospitality! The menu offers a good variety of dishes, and everything we ordered was delicious. The service was super friendly — they kept refilling the banchan (small side dishes) many times, which was such a nice touch. Our food came out really quickly, too. Cozy place, great flavors, and genuinely kind people. Highly recommend!

I am a Californian and it is my first time to visit this restaurant but it is really great experience. All the foods here are like the foods my grandma's. I tried Ganjatang and bossa, and they are the best among the Korean restaurant I've visited. I hope they open branch in California.

I've visited this restaurant twice now and the food is absolutely delicious! The staff is warm and welcoming, so don't let the Korean menu intimidate you. The side dishes have a traditional flavor, and the cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy a bowl of kalguksu. Their prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions - including the side dishes! This place has quickly become my go-to whenever I'm craving Korean food, and I'm already looking forward to trying something new on my next visit!

Had the greatest time here!! My friend and I were treated so well and the food complimented the service, 10/10!!! Portions are amazing and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu!!!!

What a lovely find! This is a small local restaurant with mainly locals visiting. The lady was extremely friendly and helpful. Whereas the food is not as flavorful as the other restaurants in the area, the food feels homey, healthier and warms the soul. I had a spicy beef soup and the beef was sooo tender! Also had the seafood pancake which had a good portion of seafood and was slightly crunchy. The banchan was also nice - with potatoes and a pork rib!

So happy we found this spot! Everything was delicious, and the broth and noodles were perfection. Not pictured, but must get the kalgooksu with clams! The eemo that served us was so sweet and gave us great recommendations. Coming back again soon!

What a memorable neighborhood spot. The staff who took my order offered me an apron to block any soup splatter from staining my white t-shirt. These small gestures are what makes excellent service. The perilla seed kalguksu was great and warms your soul. I'm a huge fan now. Will be back if I'm ever in the area again.

We went around noon on the weekend, and the place filled up very quickly. It felt understaffed, we waited quite a while during our meal and the side dishes didn’t come out until after the rice was served. Also our tea never got refilled. The food overall was okay. The oyster pancake was pretty good, but we did bite into a shell. The bulgogi is not recommended, very little meat, quite dry, and lacking flavor. We basically forced ourselves to finish it. Overall it’s fine. If you happen to pass by during off-peak hours, it might be worth a try, but I wouldn’t wait in line for this place.

Came for lunch on Christmas Day and there was not an empty table, that should tell you something. At first the lady was a bit off putting but I figured out she was just overwhelmed because she was the only one working. We stood for a while as she took orders, cleaned, served. The seafood sujaebi (hand torn noodles) broth had a lot of depth. Large portion as well, so I took half home. The banchan (side plates) were not the usual ones you see in Ktown and I appreciated that. So tasty, especially the stewed daikon. The server came by to ask if we wanted more sides. The seafood pajun (pancake) was the best I've had in NY, thin and crispy. I'd come back again and again.

The staff was really friendly from the start and suggested us some delicious food. We were positively surprised about the customer service. We've been to different korean restaurants and this has been the best in New York. The Bossam was really in point. We are definitely coming back. 감사합니다

loved this place!! the staff were really nice and recommended the 감자탕 (Korean potato stew with pork bone and vegetables) which what was i was planning to get because i had it in South Korea. it was slightly spicy, i didn’t think it was because it didn’t have a hot pepper next to it on the menu but even then it was bearable. the 파전 (pajeon) was delicious and crispy on the outside. side dishes can be refilled for free. this spot reminds me of a few gamjatang spots i ate out in South Korea. highly recommend and would come again! :)

Korean home-style hearty comfort food. We really enjoyed it and had a good time there. All dishes were well made. Highly recommended.

Amazing traditional korean food at really good prices. I've gone several times with friends and its worth the effort to get there. Their pork neck soup is really hearty and welcome on a cold day. The octopus and pork bulgogi is also delicious, and we've ordered both each time. The other dishes we've tried have also been tasty. It seems to cater mostly to Koreans, but it's easy enough to navigate and the menu has photos for most items.

The seafood pancake is light and airy and the dumplings leave nothing to be desired. God I can't wait to come back here. Kamsamida!!! Oh and sorry my pics are after I started eating. Lol.
